Yeah me too - I used a VGA monitor with my 4000 as I thought the
640x256 workbench screen looked crap - except good ol Amos needs the
standard 1084 monitor or equivalent. So I now have a crap looking
chunky workbench!
I just saw Andrew's comment there and thought of something I saw. You
know the way Amos screens just sit on intuition screens and dont move
about when you use the Amiga m keypress. I saw a small proggy that
forced amos screens onto an intuition type screen by whacking various
hardware registors. Would that mean promotion or similar progs could
get at the screen to change its res? I can't try this as I've ditched
the VGA monitor (well given it to a home-made PEECEE) but I'll send it
to anyone who wants to give it a look!
